Definition

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission describes pre-IPO investing as buying a company's shares before it holds an initial public offering. To offer securities to the public in the United States, a company needs either registration or an exemption.

Shares bought from an issuer in an unregistered private sale are restricted securities. Under Rule 144's public-resale safe harbor, the minimum holding-period condition is 6 months for a reporting company and 1 year for a non-reporting company. This is a condition of that exemption, not a universal restriction on every resale; other conditions can apply. The SEC warns that pre-IPO shares can be hard to sell and that current, reliable information about the company can be hard to get.

Its value is a derivative-based reference, not the company's share price or an official valuation.

before a listing, there is no exchange close to compare with.

How it appears on StockTicker24

The New listings tab holds cards for companies before and shortly after listing. A card for an unlisted company shows the "Unlisted" badge. Its tooltip reads: "The underlying is not listed on any exchange. This is a perpetual-futures reference value." There is no cash close yet, so the card shows no vs.-close figure.

The site retrieved its production board snapshot (/api/board-snapshot) at Oct 10, 2026, 05:01:18 UTC (capturedAt 05:01:10.627 UTC). Two cards on the New listings tab reference unlisted companies.

Anthropic (io:ANTH)2,078.452,075.942,116,369

These numbers are contract prices. They are not a price per share, and they are not a valuation published by either company.

After a listing, the same card switches from "Unlisted" to a market state such as "Cash market open" or "After hours". In records the site saved on 42 days between Aug 9 and Sep 23, 2026, the Unitree contract kept the code UNITREE before and after its listing. The site's change log treats Unitree as listed from Aug 19, 2026. In the same snapshot, Unitree's mid price was 64.6075.

"Unlisted" means the value comes only from the perpetual-futures contract.

Questions

Is the value on an "Unlisted" card the company's share price?

No. It is a derivative-based reference value. It differs from an actual share price and from any official valuation.

Does the contract code change when the company lists?

Not always. In the site's records, Unitree's code stayed UNITREE before and after listing.

Can I buy pre-IPO shares through StockTicker24?

No. StockTicker24 has no trading function and does not deal in unlisted shares. It displays reference values only.
